    We used Paul King as i have been to relatives funerals before done by them. Lesley in the SWF office is a wonderful lady. Kind and caring and listens to your requests. The celebrant that Lesley recommended was amazing on the day. Our friends thought he was a family friend as he described Ken and the family as if he knew them personally. The went smoothly from start to finish and they really could not of given Ken a better sending off. Thank you to lesley and to all the staff at Paul King Funeral Directors and to the amazing celebrant. You did Ken and the family proud.

  • Dad Funeral

    I would just like to thank all at Paul J King funeral services for the excellent and caring attention we have received after losing my beloved Dad. We had the funeral service yesterday and although it was heartbreaking it was such a beautiful send off and very fitting for my Dad. Unfortunately we have had to use Paul J King in 2017 when we lost my brother tragically to cancer. On both occasions for my brother Chris and for my Dad, Paul J King made both losses easier to deal with. In particular Lesley, she cared for them both whilst they were with Paul J King and it gave us great comfort knowing she was there to keep an eye on them. Her compassion and skills are rare to find these days and she is a credit to Paul J King. Thank you all again.

    Paul J King arranged and conducted my Husband's funeral on 4th December. The care and service I received before his funeral was excellent and Lesley who was my point of contact was excellent too. However, almost 7 weeks after my Husband's cremation to still not be in pocession of his ashes I find very distressing and completely unacceptable. His cremation was held at Basildon Crematorium and I was told it would take a little longer for me to have his ashes as 'we don't go to Basildon Crematorium as often". I accepted that, and was willing to be patient, but after numerous visits to the South Woodham Branch asking when I can have his ashes and even offering to collect them myself I still don't have them! Losing my very much loved Husband of 43 years was heart breaking enough but this has just caused more distress to an already grieving family. Tomorrow is 22nd January which will be exactly 7 weeks since my Husband was cremated. Even allowing for the Christmas period 7 weeks of waiting to bring him home I find completely unacceptable and poor service!

    Dear Mrs Lammas, I am so very sorry to read this and can understand the distress this must have caused you. Needless to say, since reading your comments, I have made internal investigations and it appears that our procedures at the Branch were not followed in this instance. I was unaware that you had made numerous visits regarding collecting the ashes and indeed that you had suggested collecting them yourself. I understand that you now have the ashes and can only apologise once again for the unacceptable service you received. I will be arranging for staff to have refresher training to ensure no-one else suffers as you have. Kind regards Paul
